Welcome

TechCon Institute is an Information Technology community school. Open to the public, serving at-risk high school students ages 14-21. Our mission is to help students succeed by educating and grading, along with providing training in the field of Information Technology. The technology emphasis will advance their career and post-secondary educational options.

TechCon will give parents and students another choice in quality, free, public education. With over 6,000 dropouts in Montgomery County and over 100,000 in the State of Ohio, TechCon will have a great impact on the state of public education due to the population it will serve and the opportunities it will afford those students. Both the academics and technical areas will use innovative methods of teaching, catering to students who are looking for different methods of teaching than are used in traditional schools.

TechCon & Virtual Learning Academy

Our computer-based high school academics take students from basic fundamental skills to preparation for careers and college entrance exams. We deliver instructions in reading, writing, math, science, interdisciplinary learning, social studies, life and career skills.

Virtual Learning Academy (VLA) curriculum meets state and national standards and was developed by a Public Educational Service Center. VLA operated in 36 states and internationally. In addition, the curriculum has great flexibility and is extremely interactive.

This curriculum, coupled with our Career Based Intervention component and hands-on classroom activities, allows students to experience the newfound joy of frequent successes, and self-esteem.

Prepare for Graduation Exams

Passing the state OGT is mandatory for graduation. These assessments place the student’s and school’s performance under great scrutiny. Many students need special preparation to ensure they are equipped with the skills to surmount this critical hurdle.

Since VLA is aligned to state standards, it allows you to assess and remediate any skill gaps. Our assessment solutions help you identify areas of need and provide individualized learning paths to help you ensure all students achieve.
